Retreat.
Slow down.
Come home to yourself.
At Idyllwood, we believe meaningful experiences begin with a simple invitation: to pause.
Our retreats are designed to help you reconnect—with yourself, one another, and the natural world. Whether we gather around a fire, beside the creek, beneath the trees, or around a shared table, each experience is rooted in thoughtful hospitality, genuine conversation, and the restorative power of nature.
Some retreats are quiet and reflective. Others are playful and creative. Each one is intentionally designed to nourish body, mind, spirit, and heart.
Four elements. Four invitations.
Breathe the Wild Air | Saturday, 3 October 2026
Join us for a day of connection, creativity, and renewal. This women’s retreat invites you to pause from daily routines and attune to the element of air — through intentional breath, mindful walking in the woods, psithurism (the sound of wind in trees), and circle gatherings. Together we’ll hike, reflect, create, stretch, share nourishing meals, and sit fireside, all while deepening connection to ourselves, each other, and the wild air around us.
Tend the Fire Retreat | Saturday, 7 November 2026
As the nights grow longer and the days colder, join us in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains for a women’s retreat centered on warmth, coziness, and connection. This day of reflection and renewal invites you to embrace the spirit of hygge: gathering around the fire, tending to your own inner spark, and making space for what will sustain you as we enter the holiday season.
Nourish the Soil | Saturday, 20 March 2027
As winter loosens its hold, we turn toward the earth—toward what grounds, nourishes, and sustains us. This women’s retreat invites us into a day of stillness and renewal, where tending the soil becomes a metaphor for tending the soul. Together we’ll root into what matters most, investing in rest, connection, and the quiet work beneath the surface that makes all growth possible.
Come to the Waters | Saturday, 29 May 2027
As spring ripens into summer, we gather at Idyllwood to rest beside still waters and let the season carry us forward in its gentle current. This women’s retreat invites you to slow down and listen — to the sound of rain on leaves, the rhythm of your own breath, and the quiet call toward renewal. Through reflection, conversation, and time by the pond and creek, we’ll explore the ways water restores and reminds us to flow with ease, to soften what feels rigid, to nourish what is ready to grow. Come thirsty; leave replenished and alive.

Retreat FAQs
Can I come by myself?
Absolutely. Many women come without knowing anyone, while others attend with friends. Our retreats are intentionally designed to create a welcoming space for connection, whether you arrive on your own or with someone you know.
Are Idyllwood retreats religious?
No. Retreats may make space for reflection on spirit, meaning, wonder, or connection, but they are not faith-based. Participants are welcome to draw from their own traditions, beliefs, or ways of making meaning.
Who can attend?
Idyllwood women’s retreats are designed for women ages 18+.
What does the sliding scale mean?
Our sliding scale is rooted in trust and reciprocity. You are invited to choose the contribution level that feels right for your circumstances, without explanation or justification. Those who are able to contribute more help make it possible for others to participate at a lower cost, creating a community where access and generosity can coexist.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes. A limited number of scholarships are available for each retreat. Please reach out if cost would otherwise keep you from participating.
Can I stay overnight?
Yes. Free rustic tent camping is available at Idyllwood for retreat participants who would like to stay close to the land a little longer. There are also Airbnb cabins and other lodging options nearby.
Can I make it a weekend with friends or family?
Absolutely. Some participants choose to rent a nearby cabin and make the retreat part of a longer mountain weekend with friends, partners, or family. Come for the retreat, then leave yourself a little more spaciousness to hike, explore, rest, or simply enjoy being in the mountains.
What about dietary restrictions?
Meals and shared food are an important part of the Idyllwood experience. We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences. You’ll have an opportunity to share your needs when you register.
What should I expect from an Idyllwood retreat?
Each retreat is different, but you can expect a thoughtful blend of nature, circle, nourishing food, creativity, reflection, movement, and connection. The particulars change with the season and theme, but the intention remains the same: to create space to slow down, reconnect, and pay attention to yourself, to one another, and to the natural world.
